History

A 19th century farm
The Podere Conca Bolgheri farm's business center is a 19th-century farmhouse with traditional stone walls and red wooden doors and windows that appear stylized in the company logo.
The Podere, at 196 of the Strada Provinciale Bolgherese, a few kilometers from the famous Viale dei Cipressi and Castagneto Carducci in the province of Livorno, Tuscany, has been the vacation home of the family of Silvia Cirri, the majority shareholder and CEO of the company, since the 1980s. It is located in the center of a 3.8-hectare basin with 800 olive trees, some of which are centuries-old, of the typically Tuscan varieties Leccino, Frantoio and Moraiolo, among whose rows in 2015 0.2 hectares of Cabernet Franc were planted.
The production of the oil, started by Silvia's mother, has been conducted since the very beginning using organic farming and the Extra Virgin Olive Oil Organic IGP Toscano now also boasts the new territorial denomination Bolgheri.
In 2014, Silvia, Chief of Anesthesia, Resuscitation and Intensive Care at the IRCCS Ospedale Galeazzi – Sant'Ambrogio of the San Donato Group in Milan, and a great wine enthusiast, after attending the three-year course of the Italian Sommelier Association, decided, with her partner Livio Aloisi and her nephew Giovanni Gastel Jr, to become a winemaker in Bolgheri.
Thus began the adventure that led her in a few years to plant 5 hectares of vineyards, to inaugurate a winery of her own in 2019, to build a market for her wines and to obtain many awards.
The early years
From the very first years, we immediately began to experiment and perfect the blends that Silvia had in mind.
For the DOC Bolgheri Agapanto Silvia is making a courageous choice as it is not typical of the classic blends of the Bolgheri area, that is to add to the Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc, which have always been the basis of the Denomination, Ciliegiolo, a native grape variety she is passionate about.
It is this original and never-before-tried combination that has made the real difference since 2015, the first vintage of the DOC Bolgheri Agapanto.
Agapanto immediately stands out for its freshness, for the red fruit aromas that distinguish it, for its finesse and its balance.

The company, which maintains a family dimension, is currently mainly focused on the search for quality
The now “adult” vines give more balanced production year after year, creating wines with a silky and enveloping tannic texture.
Furthermore, the team that supports Silvia, almost all female, is increasingly motivated and passionate, both in the management of the vineyards and in the activities carried out in the cellar under the careful supervision of the oenologist-agronomist Linda Franceschi.
Great attention is also paid to the transparency with which the Company communicates to the press, industry operators and the public, the characteristics and quality of its products, the management of the vineyards, the organic treatments, the work in the cellar and the winemaking processes.
The same information is explained in depth during the visit to the vineyards that precedes the Tastings .
In nine years, we have gone from 2 labels to the current 4, but in Silvia's mind, the evolution does not stop here. Her lucky number has always been 7 and she would like the hectares of vineyards to be 7 in the future.
Fingers crossed!
